What business advice actually looks like

We first started helping businesses in 1985, through freelance management consultancy. Since then we've worked on projects across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Europe, the Middle East, South East Asia, the UK and the USA — and in 2023 we were named Leading Business Strategy Consultancy 2023 (Nottinghamshire) at the Midlands Enterprise Awards.

Business advice is the lightest-touch way to draw on that experience. There's no lengthy project scope and no retainer — just a conversation about the decision or problem you're facing, and clear, practical guidance you can act on straight away. It's the right starting point if you're not yet sure what kind of help you need, or if what you need is simply a second opinion from someone who has seen the problem before.

Which service is right for you?

We offer four related ways of working, and it's common for a client to start with one and move to another as their needs change. Here's the short version of how they differ:

• Business Advice — a one-off conversation or short series of calls about a specific problem or decision. Start here if you're not sure what you need.
• Consultancy — a defined project with a clear scope and outcome, such as a restructure, a process review, or planning a new market entry.
• Business Support — ongoing, retained access to expert help for day-to-day operational questions, rather than a single project.
• Business Growth — strategy specifically focused on scaling up: new markets, new revenue, and the operational changes growth requires.
• Mentoring — ongoing, one-to-one development for you as a business owner or leader, not just the business itself.
